Despacito is a 2017 song that was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It became the top streamed track in the world within six months. It was a mixture of pop music and reggaeton did not just bring interest in reggaeton but also drew interest to Latin music more generally. Billboard's Top 100 included four mostly Spanish tracks in 2016 and two songs in 2015. In 2017, at the peak of the popularity of Despacito the track was one of 19 that mainly Spanish were included in the Top 100. In 2020, it will have 41 songs that fall into this category. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 as a bilingual rendition. In the following months, several artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars such as Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma with Medellin 2019. The gradual mainstreaming of reggaeton became a concern for some performers by 2020. Rauw alejandro and a younger generation wanted to preserve the style. The genre often incorporated electronic dance as well as different forms.
