Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She is the author of fifteen books. She is also the co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an author and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. After moving into England from Greece at 16 She earned an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. The first ever foreign-born student to serve as president of the highly regarded debating group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took on the role. She became a syndicated conservative writer following the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a few years following, she launched an online platform to voice opinions which offered critiques of the political landscape. The fame of Arianna helped to attract several well-known contributors for posting their opinions on the news as well as politics and culture. Arianna's popularity started in 2003, after she was a candidate for an independent for the California recall vote to replace then-Governor Davis. The project she headed was the Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Forbes named her as the top woman in the field of media in 2009. Her ranking was in the 12th spot on Forbes' list. The Guardian added her to the top 100 list of media for 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her president of that media group which included many then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos as well as Elli, who are both journalist and management consultants. She was very close with her father. But it was her relationship with her mother that formed her. Through her early period, she displayed leadership skills for which her name is still well-known. When she was 16 years old, she moved over in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debate club. As the third woman president and the first foreigner she served as the head of the Cambridge Union. In 1972, she earned an education in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a critic for a newspaper column and an anchor on TV. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
