April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. Ross is among just a handful of female beach volleyball players to achieve this feat. She will be competing in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman, who is a first time Olympian. However, more importantly Ross wants to secure her first Olympic gold. It could be the last opportunity for her as she is 39 years old. But she's convinced that top honours are within reach. If we play our best or even play really well, I believe we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. And, I'm also going attempt to get chance. Ross was born in 1982 in Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and sister. Ross played in numerous activities while at Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete, she also participated in indoor volleyball and track. She was definitely a distinguished athlete in the latter sport. According to her bio, she played a middle blocker, as well as an outside hitter in the volleyball court throughout her senior year of high school. To honor her effort, she was honored as an 1999 Gatorade The Circle of Champions' National Player of Year. Also, she won the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are performing their duties as of 2017. In reality, Ross had already been a seasoned participant in the scene of beach volleyball before the pairing. In fact, she won multiple major tournaments with two other partners, one of whom is the volleyball legend. They teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also as the Klineman's assistant and Kessy's coach. Together, Kessy Ross was an active participant in the world circuit, winning one of the biggest titles in the world in 2009. They won a Silver Medal from the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor's iconic team as well as Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's exit. They won the bronze medal at the beach volleyball competition in the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a player for the USC Trojans in the years of college after graduating from the high school she attended. And her run at USC was quite impressive. It was her time to be an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of Year in the year 2000. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans get to the Final Four. She was devastated by a personal loss during her sophomore year and yet she came back her place as an All-American. The two seasons she spent with the Trojans, she helped them win consecutive championships. Individually Ross established her status as a legend by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the highest female collegiate player from the United States. Ross was a major in international relations at USC. Unfortunately Ross mom Margie was not able to witness her daughter rise to the highest levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She is deeply in love with the memory of her parent. Margie is an ever-present source of inspiration for her, at and off the beaches.
