Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain, born March 24, 1977, is an American actress. Known for primarily starring in films with feminist themes. she has received various accolades, including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential individuals around the globe in 2012. Chastain began acting at an early age. In 1998 she made her debut on stage in the role of Shakespeare's Juliet. After studying acting at the Juilliard School, she was hired to a talent holding deal with the producer of television John Wells. She appeared as regular guest stars on a variety of television shows and played roles in many stage productions. Chastain's debut film was Jolene (2008) when she was the age of 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough with six films, which included The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011), and The Tree of Life (2012). In her roles as an aspiring socialite and a CIA analyst, she received Academy Award nominations in The Help (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The science-fiction films Interstellar (2014), The Martian (2015) and It Chapter Two (2018) were commercially more successful. Chastain's strong-willed roles in dramas A Most Valuable Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), Molly's Game (2017) and Scenes from a Marriage (2021) were also highly acclaimed. She was later cast as Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021), winning the Academy Award for Best Actress as well as Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). Chastain has founded Freckle Films to promote diversity in film production. She is also an investor in Angel City FC. She is vocal about mental issues and gender and racial equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo (fashion executive) is her husband.
